The Expensive:

1. Pop-ups. Not only is this expensive, but also outright annoying that visitors close pop-up windows without even bothering to know what they're all about. This is an internet advertising method that you can do without.

Fly ads are derivatives of pop-ups which are also equally irking to the visitors.

2. 1. Pop-ups. Not only is this expensive, but also outright annoying that visitors close pop-up windows without even bothering to know what they're all about. This is an internet advertising method that you can do without.

2. Pod casts.

Broadcast is to TV as pod cast is to internet. It's one sophisticated internet advertising method that can somehow hamper your budget. But if you're thinking results, pod casting is worth the money.

3. Paying the search engines.

How does this one work? When someone types in a keyword related to your site, your URL is automatically included in the first page of the top results. Fixed payment for the search engine allows just that. Expensive, yes, but if we're talking about Google and Yahoo search engines here, then don't give it a second thought.

This is associated with another internet advertising method: the pay-per-click system.

The Cheap:

However, there's an ideal way of going about it. Email marketing is not just about writing any email that you will be sending to anybody. To clarify that, here are some simple tips in doing email marketing the best way possible.

1. Join the "Can Spam" campaign.

Email marketing is not at any rate tantamount to spamming. You are not supposed to send information that your email list will not have any valuable use for.

Improve your subject line by using extra white space creatively, adding text symbols, starting each word with a capital letter, asking compelling questions, not making any unbelievable claims, and not using the word FREE.

3. Keep it real.

Not including any too good to be true statements is not only applicable to your subject line. Your email content must never embody any promise your business can't keep. Make your offer genuinely of value to your recipients.

4. Don't go too low.

If you inform your customers regarding discounts, minimal discounts are not that effective compared with substantial discounts. But never offer discounts that are lower than your profit. It will defeat the purpose of this email marketing effort.

5. Make it eventful.

It's not about contradicting the advice that you should keep an email short and sweet. This tip is on including seminars, conferences and other events in your email. Businesses that require training benefit much from this method. With these RSVP-requiring emails, repetition is important. Just make sure that an ample interval is considered before sending out a reminder email.

6. Post news.

Sending newsletters and postcards provides useful information for your subscribers. These are the best forms of reaching out to your customers or prospects. You should keep the information short, simple and direct to the point for this feat to be effective.

The advertiser pays the affiliate to place a link on their website, and the affiliate sends traffic to the advertiser in return. Simply put, it's about paying commissions to people who help you make sales. It's that easy. NOT.

Affiliate marketing has its ups and downs. It could be draining if you are not armed with updated information and the technical how-tos. But this article's sole objective is to reach out to you and not to badmouth affiliate marketing.

1. Low cost

Many are scared to go on a home based business because of the capital required. In affiliate marketing, you don't have to spend much to start raking in moolah.

Product management fuss could be very stressing. An inventory is not asked to be maintained. The merchant does the maintenance required.

When you have a paid job, your monthly income mainly relies on whether you go to work or not. With affiliate marketing, your affiliates could all just lead traffic to your site without having to lift a finger after providing them your ad copy and links. Though not every web marketer earns limitless, it still is a fact that all the necessary matters for the advertiser or Internet marketer are all there to be successful.

Trial And Error In Marketing

The way to avoid making any costly mistakes is by reading and acquiring training. Of course, many of these get rich programs fail to offer the type of support a newbie needs to succeed. They lack the training. Which can be described as part of the trial and error process. The reason for this is simple: it is not a good program. The only people getting rich off of these types of programs are the programs owner. So when making a decision on where to spend your money, research each company thoroughly. Don't make the mistake of joining anything that requires you to go out and purchase leads, tells you all you have to do is advertise or to use PPC without offering the proper training.

Although PPC is probably the best and fastest way to acquire leads it can also be the most costly, especially if you don't know what you are doing. So before using this form of advertising read all that you can on the subject. You can find all that you need at Google Adwords or the that Yahoo/Overture campaign page.

Advertising on the internet is trial and error. There are so many avenues to pursue. Article writing can be a valuable source to gather leads for your business. It can also be rewarding as your writing techniques improve. There are many others, and it is best to find the one that best suits your budget and your personal desires. One of the most popular forms is video training using You Tube. This will give you a chance to personalize your message and gives your viewer's a good look at who they will be working with.

I find it important to list the most popular forms of online marketing. I will give you my list and describe what I like and use the most. I try and use all of them, but it would not be smart if you are a newbie to try and do this. It would be better if you started with one and as soon as you begin to see results, in the form of prospects and sales then and only then should you move onto something else.

My Space is at the top of the list. Besides being able to buy advertising, you can find people who share the same interests. Then it is important to build a relationship without trying to sell your business. Get them to trust you first and then make an offer.

There are also list builders like Viral Url and List Joe.com. These companies will pump out your message thousands of members who in order to gain credits must click on the ad so there own ad and sight will be seen. It's a win-win and you should be able to gain between 20-30 prospects each month from such an approach.

Free classified is yet another. There is a certain appeal to this form of advertising because it is free, but personally I have never had much luck with it.

Facebook is a good way to get seen. It is a popular site where thousands of like minded individuals congregate to engage in marketing their business. So it is really important to establish yourself as someone who is knowledgeable and good at interacting. Remember this is a social site, so be sociable and create relationships.

Another popular form of marketing is the use of forums. I use these regularly and have established some very valuable relationships. It is a good place to get tips and answer to any problems you may be having.

There are many different forms of advertising and I have barely scratched the surface. Traffic exchanges, text exchanges, ad exchanges and many more. Through trial and error you will find what works best for you.

My advice is to read as much as you can and become knowledgeable, enabling you to help others which will increase your online credibility. Another thing I should add is to find a program that interests you and offers complete training. Training is key. Online marketing is always changing and new methods are always being created, so try being creative yourself and who knows you may crack the code. This could lead to millions. I wish you the best of luck and hope some of the info I have written here you have found helpful. Take care and good luck.

3 Techniques to Sharpen Your Internet Marketing Skills

One the most powerful and free techniques to make money online is article marketing. With article marketing, you have to make sure to write about topics that you know the most about. If you keep trying to write an article on a subject of which you know very little about then even if you were to try your article will take much longer to finish and it won`t generate much interest. Always write about what you know best as this will help you to get the most articles done in a shorter period of time.

It is important for you to ensure you write your articles appropriately. Now I will tell you this article writing is not for everyone and most people will unfortunately fail at it. However, if you can make it happen, it can be a tremendous help to your website, but to maximize success it is vital to write as many articles as possible.

Another great free tool for making money online is video marketing. When you do video marketing one thing you should keep in mind, is just like with television commercials, most people don't want to be sold they want to be entertained. Make your viewers laugh, make them smile or even make them cry - it doesn't matter as long as you get their attention focused on you. If you catch their attention it will based on your product or service to make a sale.

If you are not using videos for advertising your products and services online, you are missing so many opportunities over the internet. Most people now will watch YouTube before they go to yahoo when they want to be informed, entertained, or when they are simply passing time. if you were to make and post your videos on various online distribution channels, you'll increase your chances of generating even more traffic to your website that will increase your revenue and sales.

Email marketing will probably be your most powerful technique to use for your marketing. All emails sent out should always be tracked this is crucial. This will allow you to see how responsive your subscribers are and to do a check up on your list to remove the people who do not respond to your emails or offers. This means you can maintain a highly responsive list of buyers and not people who are just after a freebie.

Having an opt-in page or a squeeze page on your website is a must. This is how you can capture the emails of potential customers and in return give them some free content or your "offers". Each person who gives you their information in this manner then become potential lifetime customers.
Don't let the big world of internet marketing scare you.

How Web 2.0 Makes Authentic Marketing Easy

I've noticed that many of the coaching clients I have been starting out with lately still have an 'old school' understanding of marketing. This means that they still buy into the approach that you should just run typical display ads or throw up a website that says something to the effect of: 'I'm great, take my word for it, and call me now to start paying me for what I offer.'

Now, this used to work-mainly because it was the only way to go about marketing. This traditional marketing style is a big reason why so many service-based business owners HATE marketing; it feels like a hard/cheesy/inauthentic selling approach. Conscious business owners don't want to have to convince someone to do business with them. They don't want to force people to see the value in what they offer. In fact, they don't want to have to sell at all.

With the development of the web 2.0 world, there is indeed very good news for the entrepreneur who hates selling-you no longer have to! No longer is it acceptable to try and sell before you have conveyed value. In this day and age, the average consumer is aware of how much buying power they have. They want you to offer them something first, something that requires no risk or commitment on their part, before they will pay for your product or service.

This is exactly what the web 2.0 world is about and why marketing has undergone a quiet revolution over the past year or two. In this day and age, it's all about getting people to interact and engage with you first. It's about establishing a connection before you sell anything.

If you're a reluctant marketer, this should come as very good news. You see, now you can offer value-based information as your main marketing strategy. This can be done on your website by offering a free special report, e-course, or audio message to your web viewers.

Now, because so many business owners are stuck in their view of traditional marketing, the majority still don't have an opt in form on their website to collect contact information in exchange for useful information. (Hint: this is critical to a successful website)

This simple feature of your website is one of the defining factors of the web 2.0 world. it's all about the exchange between you and your audience. Now, what this does is it builds credibility, trust, and rapport. People feel like they know you before they ever even speak with you. Your audience will decide that they want to do business with you because your information sells itself. It's a natural and effortless process. Doesn't that sound nice?

If you're serious about creating a strong online presence, make sure you have an opt in form on your website and something valuable you can offer people for free. If you set this up correctly, you'll find that your marketing just got a whole lot easier.

Selecting A Niche Market

When people want to sell their own product the first and biggest mistake they tend to make is that they develop their product first. Then they go out searching for a market for it to sell in. It does not matter if you trade on or off the internet; the first thing you should always do is first find the niche market and then develop the product to suit.

Searching for a niche market is certainly easier said than done, but there are many online resources where you can do your market research for free. You just need to know where to go and what to do to match market with product and vice versa. When you believe you have found a niche market then the work really begins and there are a number of important questions that you need to answer.

The first question is about yourself and the niche chosen – are you interested in the niche or could you have the passion for it? If you are positive about the niche then you need to determine if other people are interested if not passionate about the niche also and if they actually spend money on products in that target area.

Then you need to decide if the market is big enough, but not so oversized as to give you to much competition. Also more research will determine what is being sold successfully and can you sell something similar. Can you see where something is lacking and can you fill the void with something that will sell.

With the niche decided upon and everything in place to market your product then there is one last very big question that needs to be answered – How much do you sell it for? Now this is where you go back to your research of earlier and check out the level of price of similar items and the type of offers that come with the deal! On analysing you research of prices you will probably find that there are three types of marketing method associated with the offers being made by your competition.

The three methods that you will find are those of up-sell, cross-sell and Back-end sale. The up-sell pricing is where a buyer is offered the item for a price but before he is able to pay he is offer something at a higher price, like an upgrade of a membership! With cross-sell this is an attempt to get the prospective purchaser to buy other related items before he pays for his initial item. With the final method of back-sell this is put into operation after the purchasers has paid and received and there has been a time lapse of days where another similar offer or completely different is sent by email to him.

The decision of which way to market is yours but if one way does not work well you can always try one of the other two ways.

Grows Your Business

Owning your own business, marketing that business and most importantly attaining that holy grail of success can be a very intimidating road to travel. If you have owned your own business for any length of time and actually worked that business you understand exactly what I mean by that statement. Those fears, challenges and the anxieties that accompany you on that journey are all part of a process called learning.

For me, there have been a number of those hurdles that pushed me outside of my comfort zone, but in looking back I am very thankful that I pushed through that phase to be in a position to reap the benefits. Article Marketing was one of those areas that while very intimidating when I started out, now almost seems to be second nature. With that said, I am not claiming to be a great writer by anyone’s imagination, but I do find it much easier to put my thoughts and words to print.

Call me an optimist, but I am a firm believer that anyone with the determination can become a writer. As with anything in life, there will always be people with varying levels of expertise, so I am not claiming that everyone has the ability to become a famous writer. Personally, I have no desire to achieve that kind of fame through my writings, but my goals are to put words to my areas of expertise in an attempt to help others. In the process I also create a lot of traffic to my website, add a critical component to my overall marketing, grow my network marketing business and I would like to think that I am able to help others along the way.

Some of the challenges that I faced when starting out with my article marketing where:
- What do I write about?
- How do I structure my articles?
- Now that I’m done, where do I put them?
- Soon afterwards I started wondering how to speed up the process.

If you have started a network marketing business, an online business or as a conventional business of some type you already know all of the questions that people are asking. Now, you may be wondering how I can make that statement. That is easy because at some point in time you were probably asking the same questions. Think about the challenges that you have faced in building your network marketing business. Everyone at some point in time that finds themselves in your shoes have asked those very questions.

When writing, you must put your thoughts to words that speak directly to the hearts and minds of your target audience. If you are writing for promotional purposes, you need to answer the questions that your prospects are asking, at least to the point that they have the desire to purchase your products and/or services. When you understand the needs of your target market, begin to address those needs and help to lift that burden from their shoulders you will begin to see real growth in your business.

While I have answered a few of the above questions in previous articles (Article Marketing for Success, Article Marketing for Success – Part 2), one of my biggest challenges was going faster. While I started finding the process of writing my articles to be going better and better, the act of having to publish those articles was tiresome. Being a bit of a speed freak, this area of my life was no different. I wanted to go faster.

Before I get to the going faster part, remember if you are on the wrong road going faster, that simply means that you have found yourself lost faster than others may have. Make sure that when you are going faster, you are on the right road, going in the right direction with a clear understanding of the ultimate destination. For me I wanted to publish my articles on sites that would get the most exposure, drive the most traffic to my sites and ultimately get picked up by other article directories without my having to publish them myself. While I have covered that in the past I felt that it was important to at least mention that fact.

By far one of the best tools that I have put in my tool box was a neat little application that has thousands of article directories listed and allows me to publish my articles to as many of them as I would like. Please do NOT think that you need to publish your articles to thousands of article directories. Most importantly that would be a huge waste of your time and secondly you would not get nearly enough benefits from all of the work that you put in. You should always measure the return on the work that you put into any given task. If the return is not sufficient to warrant the work you must either become more proficient at the task or drop it in favor of something more beneficial.

After looking at a number of different tools for the purpose of easing the task of publishing my articles I found that one tool in particular work better than anything else that I had found. Again I use that tool to publish to a select few articles directories that bring me the most bang for my time, but the time savings was important to me. I quickly tired of going to directory after directory to publish my articles. Given the ability to open one application and automate that process such that everything was in one place was a huge relief. Now I am able to write an article and have that article published on a multitude of sites in less time that I used to be able to write an article. That is the kind of progress that I strive for and I am sure you would enjoy yourself.

Remember, that while it may be a little intimidating when you first implement article marketing into your marketing plan, stick with it because it is by far one of the best ways to generate traffic, and sales in your business. Once you have decided what to write, the best place to publish that article and you want to speed up the process of publishing I would highly recommend using a well built article submitter program.

How To Promote Your Website For Next To Nothing

Article marketing isn't all that new - it has been around for a while but isn't as well known a web promotion strategy as some of those that cost you a lot more money - that's whether they actually work or not but how often have you heard someone mention an interesting article they've just read? Probably a lot more often than you hear adverts talked about and this can add aaluable credibility over paid advertising.

It has long been known that one of the most effective ways of promoting a website in the search engines is by the building of back links - links from other sites to your own. These links are most effective in boosting your ranking when they link from relevent content or pages similar - but not identical - to your own. Equally links from large sites that themselves have high search engine rankings are deemed more important than links from smaller or lower ranked ones. Generally speaking, a page with a higher page rank will appear higher in search results for a particular word or phrase than one with a lower rank. It follows that a higher position means more traffic to that page.

The more back links you have to a page then the more effective this strategy is, so what needs to be done is to create a large number of quality backlinks without parting with large amounts of money for the privilege. This is where article marketing can prove to be a very powerful website promotion tool. To begin you need to write an article - typically 500 to 800 words - on a subject related to your website and no - I don't mean advertising copy or a blatant sales pitch - but something that's interesting and informative to the reader.

The article is then uploaded to a number of article directories who each typically allow you 2 backlinks to the pages of your choice - you are not normally limited to just a homepage link as you are with some blog sites. The great thing is that you have control of the link text - another factor determining its importance to the search engines - relevent text being deemed much better than simply "click here" or similar. So now we have a couple of links from some relevant content on a large highly ranked site - or several sites - just about the best thing you can do to boost your site's ranking.

We musnt't forget either the purpose of the article directories. As well as search engines, real humans read these articles too. They're not just any old random humans though - they've found your article by searching for particular products or information so are likely to be interested in what's on your website. Guess What? That's where the links at the bottom of the page go to. So in addition to a boost in your search engine ranking, real live people - potential customers - are also finding your site from the article. Good eh!

It gets better - the article directories syndicate this content for free use on other sites - the only stipulation being that other users do not alter the article and that they keep the resource box intact with your links and contact information. This service is used by webmasters as well as ezine and some magazine publishers to find content, so the article could very well end up on hundreds of sites each with the links back to yes - you guessed it - your website.

The obvious bonus - apart from a distinct lack of cost - of article marketing is that even if your own site isn't on the first page of search results, the chances are your article in one of the directories will be - along with its links to your site and there it will stay. The article will remain for years where it can be found by people searching the web, continuing to send traffic to your site but not costing you a penny more.

My previous blog addressed 10 Cool twitter tools that can really help you. The twitter tools I mention below are mainly used for fun and idle times. Check them out and let me know what you think.

1) Twistori – Twistori is pretty cool. Click on the link and it brings you to a page with 6 words on the left hand side: Love, Hate, Think, Believe, Feel, and Wish. When you click on one of these options, the page will show all live tweets as they happen with these keywords in them.
http://twistori.com/

2) Twittermap – Twittermap shows where your friends are. Type in a twitter account name and you can see where there account is and their last tweet.

3) Twittersheep - Cool, but pretty pointless. You insert your twitter account name and it gets keywords from your page, followers, and profile and tries to make some sort of coherent sentence. Kind of like a twitter madlib.

4) Twitterholic – This list shows the rankings of all twitterers. It’s doubtful you’ll ever make it on top of this list, but it’s cool to find out where you are compared to everyone else.
http://twitterholic.com/

The powers that be behind twitter have been able to market themselves through many of these cool applications and tools, basically for free. By releasing their API in the foundational stages of the site, it allowed outside parties to make twitter tools to help themselves and the twitter community. Twitter didn̢۪t have to spend any time being creative and inventive regarding really cool tools and applications; they had their own users do it for them. There are new tool and applications for twitter that I hear about every day. What are your favorites? Which ones don̢۪t you like so much, what would you like to see? Comment below and let̢۪s discuss. Maybe some of you are coming up with great ideas yourself, and thanks to Twitter you can make them come to fruition.

Internet Marketing Myth #7 - People Who Don't Buy From You Just Want Something For Nothing

Internet Marketing Myth #7 - People Who Don't Buy From You Just Want Something For Nothing

Here is another internet marketing myth that has got to be one of the top ten dumbest internet marketing myths that is spreading like wildfire across cyberspace.

The term "Freebie Seeker" is one of those phrases that I really hate seeing or hearing most of the time. It is one of those physiological mind games that quite a few sellers and marketers use to get you to buy whatever they are selling.

One of the biggest problems with this phrase is that most of the time when someone says it, it just isn't true. For more details go to www.mrx-interview.com It's a phrase that is almost always used in a derogatory manner. It is an insult and it is uncalled for in most instances.

It is a term that is used in the 'How to Make Money' niche probably more than all other niches put together.

A lot of people who are trying to sell a product or service related to this niche would really like you to believe that if you don't buy from them, it is because you just want something for nothing.

The vast majority of the time that someone doesn't buy something, has nothing to do with being a "Freebie Seeker" or wanting something for nothing. It has to do with things like:

Not trusting the seller. The seller hasn't done enough to show the potential customer that he or she is indeed trustworthy.

Or

not believing what the seller's ad copy says. The seller has not produced good ad copy. The seller has made their ad copy unbelievable. The seller's ad copy is deceptive or it sends up red flags. More to the point, the seller's ad copy has one or more statements in it that make it suspicious to the reader.

Or

not having enough money to buy. This one here may seem like something that the seller has no control over, but... if the seller really wants to make their product or service available to more people, then most of the time they can reduce the price. If that doesn't help, they can reduce the price even further.

Some businesses have high prices on what they sell and some businesses will have low prices on what they sell, but in either case, their business won't make a profit if they don't make their product or service obtainable to enough people.

Or

they found a similar but better product or service or a better deal on the product or service. The seller has not made buying from him or her more beneficial to the potential buyer than if that buyer bought the same or similar product or service from the competition.

Or

the seller hasn't described his or her product or service enough or hasn't answered every question or addressed every concern his or her potential customer might have about the product or service being sold. To know more about it simply login to www.the-forum-list.com

or

The customer or potential customer wants proof that the seller's product or service will benefit them, and the seller has not proven that it will.

The seller hasn't shown or demonstrated that his or her product or service will do everything that they say it will or that it will be everything they say it will be. Sellers can always talk a good game, but talk is cheap. People want proof or at least some very compelling evidence

10 myths about entering international markets

10 myths about entering international markets

Here are 10 misconceptions by companies about entering overseas markets.

1 If we make a better mousetrap, they will buy it.

The question here is, do you think that factor alone is the necessary and sufficient condition to sell overseas? If it was always about quality, then why doesn't everyone always buy the best product?

2 English is the universal language, so we can simply sell in English.

This speaks to several issues: Does everyone in the client organization speak, read and write English? Remember, decisions often are made on a consensus basis, and your marketing materials may travel quite a bit within the clients' firms and sit on many desks.

3 Our labor cost is too high to market our product overseas.

This myth can be refuted with one statistic: Fifty-five percent of Japan's trade surplus with the United States comes from industries where their labor cost is higher than ours. If labor cost was the deciding factor, then how on earth could Germany possibly sell anything abroad?

4 Our price is too high for overseas markets.

Are you intending to compete only on price? Many commodities (oil, wheat, cement, corn) are price-sensitive, but the vast majority of international successes aren't.

5 Our skilled marketers can take on overseas markets.

If we define marketing as awareness, understanding and belief, we need to ask:

Do my marketing people know how to make overseas markets aware of the product? Do they know how to explain the products, attributes and benefits in terms that make sense to the locals?

6 Our in-house foreign nationals can sell to overseas markets.

In one example, a U.S.-based CEO told me his Chinese wife could negotiate with the Chinese government for market entry. My questions were: Is she a skilled negotiator? Does she understand the sales process? Does she have the motivation and energy to break into this difficult market?

7 Our local partners will handle all of the marketing.

This idea of relinquishing market control while enjoying great success is rare. Most of the time, overseas partners will look toward the parent to help stimulate demand, deal with problems as they occur, get to know the distribution channels, offer subject matter expertise and show that the parent company has indeed invested in the market.

8 The customer expressed all of the buying signs, and even said "yes" to our proposal.

Many firms overseas conduct their market research by posing as buyers. They conduct competitive intelligence the same way. Your banker will tell you that the sale is complete only when the money has been deposited into the bank.

9 We don't need to invest a lot; our Web site gives us a presence.

Actually, your Web site gives you a brochure, but no real place where businesses and consumers can get support, touch and feel your product, get to know your company and its staff, deal with returns, make product modifications and enable co-marketing agreements.

10 If it worked here (in the United States), it will work there.

This speaks to local ethnocentrism. Success at home also can be a hindrance to overseas success. Arrogance and impatience are often byproducts of domestic success. Market conditions, buying conditions, business practices, negotiation tactics and product specifications all differ by market.

So, how do you choose a market?

How to Start an Internet Marketing Business - 3 Peoples' Stories Will Surprise You

When it comes to how to start an internet marketing business, many people make mistakes when choosing the right business model to follow. When you read how other people started an internet making business, you will probably get a spark of inspiration that will show you how to start an internet business in no time.

The first person learnt how to start an internet based business by copying someone on eBay. He registered on eBay and saw public domain movies been sold. From what he saw about the product, he knew the owner was making real hard cash. He decided to learn how to start an internet marketing business by studying all about how to sell on eBay and public domains movies. It took him three days to learn all that.

He joined some public domain websites and got some movies which he then repackaged and sold on eBay. He chose eBay because it already had millions of daily visits from people worldwide. He was shocked to make some money the following day. The morale of this is that you can learn how to start an internet marketing business by strictly copying what someone else is already doing. You must choose a single business idea first.

The second person learnt how to start internet business by getting an expert to guide him. He was lucky to buy an ebook from an expert who taught people how to start an internet marketing business, and who also gave personal support until the business was established.

It involved making money selling other peoples' products through affiliate programs. His 'how to start an internet business' approach involves doing market research, keyword research, buying a domain name, getting web hosting, installing a blog, selecting affiliate programs, monetizing your blog website with affiliate programs and Google AdSense.

After that, he learnt solid methods of making people to find his website. He made over two thousand dollars his first month. The morale of this is that it is best to invest some money on how to start an internet marketing business on a product that works, especially if there is ongoing support when you get stuck.

The third person learnt how to start a business on the internet by writing for others. She wrote articles for webmasters and companies who paid people that wrote quality articles for cash. She basically learnt how to start an internet marketing business by providing article writing services. She got an article writing product that gave the blueprints of how to write quality 500-word articles in thirty minutes, and that had a list of companies that pay daily for articles. When she had made enough cash, she went on to study other kinds of online marketing business.

The morale of this is that you can learn how to start an internet marketing business by writing articles for companies who will pay you daily for articles, especially if you know how to write articles that will guarantee that you get paid daily. You don't have to look for customers, and you don't even need to panic whether you know how to write or not. Everything should be there in one single product.

Role of SEO In Internet Marketing

The Internet has greatly transformed the way people learn about different products and services. Nearly a decade ago, companies used to reach the target market through print media and traditional marketing methods. Today, consumer buys after doing an extensive research on the type of product they need to guarantee the best quality at the best price possible on the internet, in the search engines, the forums, the blogs and the social media.

Every business relies on market and the customers; a business serves their market/customers by providing products and services and customer reaches to the product by advertisement and promotion of the product or service. With the increased competition in the market and the economic recession around the world, it is important that your message goes to the customer first and at the time when he/she is looking for that kind of product.

Before starting an online business, you need to know the customer base that you are targeting. There is lot to do after the successful launch of the website. If the brand name is a known one than you may have to put a little less effort but otherwise you have to start from the scratch and this is where brand identity or brand awareness comes in.

Internet is a huge world, no wonder it is called "World Wide Web", and reaching to billions and trillions of people is not an easy job. But once you accomplish reaching out to people, it would definitely improve the customer base as well as attracting new customers towards the website. The key to success in internet marketing is lots of hard work and never giving up. There is no magical pill to become successful in internet marketing, you may get a lot instantly, but at the same time you may loose everything.

When you say internet marketing, it umbrellas a lot of different domains such as forum marketing, blog marketing, e-mail marketing, you-tube marketing, marketing through social media, marketing through adwords, banner adds, affiliate advertising and search engine optimization (SEO). etc.

A research shows that 80 % of the customers reach their desired website through organic searches, when you enter any search criteria in a search engine, the search engines gives you thousands of related links. Statistics show that around 90% of people go for first two pages of the search results, and all of the users click on links which are in top 5 of the search result page. Which explains why optimizing your website to the search engine or Search Engine Optimization is so important. Organic search results are gathered by search engine's web crawlers and ranked according to relevance to search terms. The relevance is calculated by the extent of keywords matched and the number of links into that website.

The way the search engines rank their pages is a complex method and a closely guarded secret but enough of it is known that you can follow some relatively simple, low-tech practices to improve you page ranking in the search results. There is a lot to cover when you want you website to be in the top ranks but the basics start with optimizing your web page which is also called "on page optimization". By on-page optimization we mean making the web page SEO and Search engine friendly.

A Search Engine crawler mainly checks four things when it crawls a web page; the URL, the title, Meta tags and the contents. On the basis of these four, the crawler ranks the page and displays it according to relevancy of the keyword the user enters. There is more than optimizing you web pages with these four ingredients, for example, headlines, sub headlines, keyword density, words at the beginning of the page, page content, bold contents, links, site navigation, the structure of links and much more.

A Search Engine optimizer needs to make the website attractive to the search engine crawlers in terms of links present in your website. It is also essential to direct the right traffic to the website, also known as off-page optimization which includes links(inbound and outbound). Ideally, your SEO strategy should work with you target market in mind and work towards attracting the relevant target market to the site.

SEO role is more important when it is considered in context with internet marketer. An internet marketer needs to sell and advertise its products and SEO helps him get to the right customers in the shortest possible time. SEO bridges the gap between the customer and their desired websites. SEO helps in creating the brand identity and awareness for the internet marketer. It leads to attracting more customers and is most helpful in converting visitors into customers as well. Relevant traffic to the website increased will most likely increase sales. Most companies build out their internet marketing strategies keeping SEO in mind. SEO strategies are made keeping in view of the marketing plan, this is essential for the success of an online business and together they can lead to successful page rank and the exact target audience.

Thus, role of Search Engine optimization is so crucial to the success of an internet marketing strategy that it is considered a separate domain in itself. While there is a lot of arguments in what is the most important in Search Engine Optimization strategies, it is however essential to construct a SEO plan that is closely connected to the internet marketing strategy so one supports the other.

Online Marketing For Offline Businesses - How to Use a Free Consultation to Get Them to Opt-In

Lately, I've been writing about different tactics businesses can use to get their prospects and customers to opt-in to their email list. There are many different ways to entice prospects, customers, and clients to submit their names and email addresses and one of those ways is by offering them a free consultation when they do so.

In this scenario, a prospect or customer surfs the internet looking for the type of product or service you sell in your store. They come across your website and click the link to take them to it. Once there, the first thing they see is a box asking them if they'd like to consult with you about their needs at absolutely no cost to them. You might use a headline in the box like, "Get Your Free 15 Minute Consultation Now," or, "Here's How to Get Your FREE 20 Minute Consultation."

This person is excited because not only can they go ahead and look around your website to see what you have to offer and what you're all about, but they can actually arrange to speak with you and find out some of the things they desperately want to know before investing in a product or service like yours. So, they enter their name and email and click the submit button and you now have another name you can add to the list of people whom you send your newsletter or special events and sales to.

Now, you have an email set up in your autoresponder that goes out to them and asks them to contact you to set a convenient time for the two of you to talk.

Think you don't have anything to offer people in the way of a one on one conversation with them? Think again. Every day you're open for business, you have conversions with your customers and with the prospects who come into your place of business to see what you have to offer them. Think about the many questions you get asked on a daily or weekly basis and make a list of them.

Come up with four or five of the most common questions people want to know about the business you're in, and viola! You can speak to an individual, either on the phone or over an instant messaging program, for three to five minutes about each of those questions and you've given them 15-20 minutes of your valuable time.

Plus, most importantly, you've added another name to your list and, because these people had a personal conversation with you, they already know, like, and trust you. So, they're less likely to unsubscribe from your list.

Using your home page to offer your customers and prospects a free consultation is a good idea for three reasons. First, as I said, they get to speak directly with you; going a long way towards helping them know, like, and trust you. Second, while speaking with you they start to get the idea that you know what you're talking about when it comes to your industry; making them more likely to buy from you instead of one of your competitors. And third, The fact that you're willing to take time out of your busy day to speak with them one on one, lets them know that you actually care about them getting the information they want and need and not just about making a sale.

Recession Data on the Value of Marketing Through Downturn

I know the anxiety is rising for many of you as the economy falters. I know it is tempting to begin the slashing process of your expenses. And, I know that marketing is one of those areas that typical gets the brunt of those budget cuts. I understand...but you must resist!

Sure, you should always be doing everything you can to maximize your marketing resources. That's true, even in a good economy. But history shows us that now is just not the time to curb your marketing efforts.

Here are some of the facts from past recessions:

1970 recession year - American Business Press (ABP) and Meldrum & Fewsmith study showed that "sales and profits can be maintained and increased in recession years and [in the years] immediately following by those who are willing to maintain an aggressive marketing posture, while others adopt the philosophy of cutting back on promotional efforts when sales appear to be harder to get." 1

1974-1975 recession years - ABP/Meldurm & Fewsmith 1979 study covering 1974/1975 and its post-recession years found that "Companies which did not cut marketing expenditures experienced higher sales and net income during those two years and the two years following than those companies which cut in either or both recession years." 2

1981-1982 recession years McGraw-Hill Research's Laboratory of Advertising Performance studied recessions in the United States. Following the 1981-1982 recessions, it analyzed the performance of some 600 industrial companies during that economic downturn. It found that "business-to-business firms that maintained or increased their marketing expenditures during the 1981-1982 recession averaged significantly higher sales growth both during the recession and for the following three years than those which eliminated or decreased marketing. 3

Cahners and Strategic Planning Institute (SPI) produced their report, "Media Advertising When Your Market Is In a Recession." It disclosed, "During a recessionary period, average businesses do experience a slightly lower rate of return relative to normal times. However, expansion times do not generate a higher level of profits than normal periods as might be expected." This phenomenon was explained by an analysis of changes in market share.

"During recessionary periods," said the Cahners/SPI report, "these businesses tended to gain a greater share of market. The underlying reason is that competitors, especially smaller marginal ones, are less willing or able to defend against the aggressive firms." The study then pointed out that businesses that increased media advertising expenditures during the recessionary period "gained an average of 1.5 points of market share." 4

1990-1991 recession years - Management Review asked AMA member firms about spending during the 1990-1991 recession. "Fortune follows the brave," it announced, noting that the data showed that most firms that raised their marketing budgets enjoyed gains in market share. Among the magazine's sample, 15 percent reported "greatly decreased" ad budgets. Advertising was "somewhat cut" by 29 percent. "The keys to gaining market share in a recession," concluded Management Review" seem to be spending money and adding to staff. Firms that increased their budgets and took on new people were twice as likely to pick up market share. 5

Beyond the statistics, why might it be more important than ever to market despite economic downturn? Strong consideration should be given to the idea that marketing plays a more critical role now than it did during previous recessions. While marketing's role was once more informational than brand identity building, and considering that never more than today has the clutter factor been so great, relationships between customers and brands are critical. Relationship marketing has surged to the top of effective marketing campaigns as a means to keep an appropriate level of share of mind for purchase loyalty. Marketing serves to foster and maintain consumer-brand relationships. 6

The effect on profits. From the Harvard Business Review, "Advertising as an anti recession tool," comes the effect of cutting advertising on the bottom line. "The rationale that a company can afford a cutback in advertising because everybody else is cutting back [is fallacious]. Rather than wait for business to return to normal, top executives should cash in on the opportunity that the rival companies are creating for them. The company courageous enough to stay in the fight when everyone else is playing safe can bring about a dramatic change in market position." In addition, the article points out "Advertising should be regarded not as a drain on profits but as a contributor to profits, not as an unavoidable expense but as a means of achieving objectives. Ad budgets should be related to the company's goals instead of to last year's sales or to next year's promises." 7

Article Marketing 101: The Perfect Author Resource Box

If you want to really make your article "SELL" then you've got to craft the perfect RESOURCE BOX. This is the "author bio" that is below your article body and it's also known as your "SIG" (short for SIGnature).

Here are the essential items that should be in your RESOURCE BOX:

Your Name: You'd be amazed at how many folks forget to include their name in the RESOURCE BOX. Your name and optional title should be the first thing in your resource box.
Your Website Address: in valid URL form. Example: http://Your-Company-Name.com/
Your Elevator Pitch: This is 1 to 3 sentences that encapsulates the essence of what makes you and your offering unique. Also known as your USP (Unique Selling Proposition).
Your Call To Action: You've got them warmed up and now it's time to lead them to BUY from you or visit your website. This is where you "Ask For The Sale." Best to only give (1) specific call to action.

Here are some optional items you could include in your RESOURCE BOX:

Your Ezine Subscription Address: While getting your interested visitor to surf your website is nice, capturing their email address can help you begin the confidence/trust process. If you're going to do this strategy, include a URL for your ezine subscription address and do not use an email address for the "join" address.
Your Contact Information: Such as your business phone number or how to reach you for interviews or your press/media kit. Keep in mind that article marketing is a timeless strategy and you may not have an easy ability to retract what you put in your article once it hits major distribution.
A Free Report: This could also be part of your call to action or your free bonus report that further enhances your credibility as the expert on the topic of your article.
Your email autoresponder: I'm not a big fan of this strategy due to the fact that spammers will text-extract your autoresponder address and add it to their spam list. Perhaps this strategy was best for the 1990's and has now run its course.
An anchor URL that is related to one keyword or keyword phrase that you want to build SEO strength for. Example: if I wanted to build search engine relevance/strength for the term "Article Marketing," I'd link up that term in my resource box to my website. This is an intermediate to advanced level strategy and should not be abused by over-doing it. Keep it simple.

What NOT to include in your RESOURCE BOX:

A listing of every website you own. There is no faster way to dilute your credibility than by posting a half dozen irrelevant URLs that have nothing to do with each other. Best to only post ONE URL that is related to the topic of your article.
A listing of every accomplishment you've achieved to date. No one cares. Keep your resource box brief and to the point. Yes, your resource box should be benefit oriented so that the reader finds value in reading it rather than your ego being justified.
Advertisements or pitches for products that are not relevant to the topic of your article.
Keep the size of your resource box so that it's no larger than 15% of your total article size. Too often I see resource boxes that are 50% of the size of the total article and this is abusive.

Your Perfect Resource Box Conclusion:

The BODY of your article is where you "GIVE" and the RESOURCE BOX is where you get to "TAKE" for your article marketing gift of information. The resource box is the "currency of payment" you receive for giving away your article. Be sure to include your name, website address, your unique selling proposition as briefly as possible and a simple call to action.

Article Marketing – Should I Use PLR Articles?

Should you take the time to write your own articles or spend a few bucks and by some cheap PLR (Private Label Rights) articles? I have been in the Article Marketing business a relatively short time and that was a question I asked myself too. There are a few things that you need to think seriously about when deciding on the route you wish to take.

It is true that PLR articles can be purchased pretty cheap, and cut and past is easy too. However this is something that you should NEVER do. Never simply cut and paste a PLR article. First there may be hundreds of the exact same article floating around the internet which will lead to duplicate content. In a nut shell duplicate content will cost you search engine ranking. Since we all want to rank high on the various search engines duplicating content is a bad idea. Second, most of the article directories have rules that specifically prohibit this. If They want fresh new content as do any of the webmasters or publishers who may want to make use of your article. If you try this with the article directories they may go as far as banning you from using their site all together, and you most definitely do not want that to happen if you plan on making a living using article marketing.

Sure you could buy a bunch of PLR articles and rewrite them. This causes yet another problem. If you take the time to rewrite a PLR article to the point that it can get past the filters that the major search engines make us of then you might as well take the time you spent and write something original. Writing original articles also lets you add your own “style” to it. What would happen if you gave 10 people a report to read and then ask them each to paraphrase what they have just read? You would get 10 reviews that say the same thing, but they all say it in a different way. Each person has their own writing style regardless of if they realize it or not.

The route you take to Article Marketing is your choice. PLR articles are a quick way to get articles out there. However you run the risk of creating duplicate content, wasting time, and not establishing your own style. Writing quality original articles may seem like it may take a bit longer but by taking the time to do it right you will fare much better in the long run. Readers will begin to recognize you by not only your name in the resource box but by the way your write your articles. Once it is known that you are one who writes high quality, original articles you will find that you are getting more readers who click through to your website. You will find that you are getting more subscribers to your list. In the long run you will find that you are making more sales as well.
